6th EXPO PAKISTAN OPENS IN KARACHI TODAY
Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

EXPO PAKISTAN is a flagship event of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and has been held annually since 2005. The 6th edition of the EXPO, scheduled to be held at the Karachi Expo Centre from October 20-23, 2011, shall be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. While entry at the Expo, during the first two days, is exclusively reserved for the foreign delegates, the last two days are open for general public.

The Expo is likely to draw a record number of foreign buyers, from all over the globe. Pakistan’s industrial sector shall be well represented through 275 exhibitors. For the first time, the product exhibitors would include suppliers from China, and Japan as well, making the Expo a truly international event.

The Expo shall include a Multilateral Conference, where working groups would focus upon development of five (5) potential business sectors of Pakistan, namely Agriculture & Dairy Farming, Infrastructure including Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, and Mines & Minerals.

The objective behind organizing EXPO PAKISTAN is to provide our business community an excellent opportunity to interact with the foreign buyers – who are in the country to participate in the event – and to understand their requirements from a whole range of buyers under one roof. For this purpose TDAP provides marketing opportunities to the exporters both at home and abroad.  It also paves the way for international investors and buyers to develop a global interest in our products and manufacturing facilities, recognizing Pakistan’s potential as a trading hub.
