The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) organized the Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum on 10th March, 2017 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi.
Mr. Vitaly Vovk, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Andrey Ermolovich, Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Pakistan, Mr. Valery Labum, Director General Belarusian Chamber of Commerce & Industry along with business delegates attended the forum. Secretary TDAP, Mr. Inamullah Khan represented the TDAP in the Business forum.
Welcoming the delegates, Secretary TDAP, Mr. Inamullah Khan highlighted the fact that the current trade volume does not correspond to the true potential of bilateral trade between the two countries. He emphasized on the removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers which is essential for trade facilitation.
The objective of the forum was to identify real opportunities for raising bilateral trade. In this regard, a technical session was arranged by TDAP wherein Mr. Oleg Dashuk, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency of Investment & Privatization gave a presentation on “Investment opportunities & Doing business in Belarus”. From the Pakistani business side, M/S Siddiqsons, M/S Herbion & M/S Pyramid also made presentations during the session.
A B2B session was also organized for the stakeholders of both countries and it is hoped that businessmen of both countries will fully capitalize on this opportunity to enhance bilateral trade cooperation in different potential sectors.
The participants appreciated TDAP’s endeavor for organizing such fruitful interactive sessions for the facilitation of business community of Pakistan. They also hoped that such informative session would continue for enhanced economic exchange between Pakistan and Belarus.
