The design of the sector strategies under the NPSES followed a comprehensive and consultative process, starting with a pre-engagement phase in November 2020, a sector selection among STPF priority sectors in January 2021, and a value chain analysis starting in April 2021. The initial drafts of sector strategies were developed in September 2021 and numerous rounds of reviews followed with public and private stakeholders, as well as bilateral meetings with relevant sector associations. Following the establishment of Sector Specific Councils (SSC) based on the list of consulted stakeholders during the NPSES design, the SSC members conducted a final review and validation of sector strategies in July 2022. This led to the launch of the NPSES in August 2022.
